Crochet Flowers Workshop with Liz Castle

Learn to crochet beautiful flowers and leaves, that you can then use to adorn different items. The workshop will be run in a flexible manner allowing each student to work at their own pace, with guidance all the way through.

Prerequisites: You must be able to do basic crochet stitches comfortably: chain, double crochet, half treble, treble.

You will need:
50g of cotton yarn, preferably in a solid colours. The yarn weight is up to you, 8ply and above is recommended.
Crochet hook in the size to suit your yarn.
Stitch markers (optional)
scissors
wool needle

Introduction to Lace Knitting with Cath Ward

In this class you will discover the magic of Lace Knitting and find it’s not as complex as it seems. Together we’ll start to knit a cosy beanie and along the way we’ll look at different types of lace stitches, what makes a good yarn for lace, and how to finish your lace project so it looks its best. Using Cath’s Beanie pattern designed for this class you will learn how to knit lace from both written instructions and charts, as well as how to read your knitting, and spot and fix basic mistakes. You’ll then be able to confidently carry on with your beanie.

Prerequisites: You must be able to do basic knitting stitches comfortably: knit, purl, decrease, yarnover and cast-on and off.
Before Class: On booking the class, you will be given instructions for knitting the ribbing of the beanie to bring to class so we can dive straight into the lace.

You will need:
100g of 8 ply yarn, preferably in a solid or semi-sold colour (not highly variegated), with a high wool content.
3.5mm & 4mm needles. Straights or circulars.
Stitch markers (optional).
Contrasting coloured cotton thread and a wool needle for lifelines.

What's Included: 2.5hours of tuition, pattern/notes, morning tea.

Lace Crochet Flower Scarf Workshop with Liz Castle

In this class you will learn how to make a beautiful crochet flower scarf. You will first learn how to make the individual lace flower motif, then you will learn how to join subsequent motifs using a join-as-you-go method. You will be able to continue this project confidently at home to create a lovely scarf or wrap.
Prerequisites: You must be confident with all crochet stitches and working in the round.

You will need: 400 metres or more of a 4ply (fingering weight) yarn. The fibre content is entirely up to you.

Granny Hexagon Crochet Cardigan Workshop with Liz Castle

In this class you will begin making a granny hexagon crochet cardigan. You will learn about the simple construction and how to customise the garment to create the perfect fit. You will be able to continue this project confidently at home to create a lovely cardigan.

Prerequisites: You must be able to do basic crochet stitches comfortably: chain and treble stitches are used mostly.

You will need: Yarn to make your cardgian.The fibre content and yarn weight is entirely up to you. The amount needed will be determined by the size and length you make. You are welcome to come discuss yarn choices prior to the class. Or experiment with yarns in the workshop prior to making a final choice.

This programme is excellent. It contains all you need to know about beginning crochet.
Liz gives all the time, knowledge and skills necessary to progress at your speed.
